Geometry and Renormalisation

26-30 September 2022
Mathematics Institute, University of Potsdam
Building 9, Room 2.22

In recent decades, the search for a fundamental understanding of renormalization methods in quantum field theory has led to new mathematical structures and tools in various areas of mathematics, ranging from combinatorics to analysis. At the same time, geometric field theories emerged, which are derived from models of quantum gravity, string theory, quantum field theory on curved space-time as well as from condensed matter physics. Interactions between these two strands of development are relatively rare and one of the goals of this workshop is to fill this gap by bringing together mathematicians and physicists interested in these ideas, thereby promoting interactions between these fields.
